Proverbs 3 (New International Version)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
“People whom we trust tend to become trustworthy”. That is an interesting statement. There are people all around us. People we know of, people that we know well and people that we trust. The ones that we trust have earned that trust in some manner. But to be trustworthy in your eyes, you must first have placed that trust in them.
The same thing can be said of God. If we trust Him, He will become trustworthy. That is not to say that God can not be trusted UNTIL we place our trust in Him, or that He should have to earn our trust. It simply means this; That until you place ALL your trust in Him, your sinful self will find reasons to THINK that you have been let down. Satan will take the opportunity of any area of your life that YOU hold onto to later say, “SEE, He let you down again”. Yet, all along WE did not trust in Him wholly. We gave Him the part we knew He could handle, but held on to the stuff that we needed to take care of, or stuff we needed try to and understand. God IS ALWAYS trustworthy! His trust is there ALL the time. He waits with baited breath for YOU to PLACE your trust in Him. He waits for you to place ALL of your trust, with ALL of your heart. When you finally do, then you will SEE EXACTLY HOW TRUSTWORTHY HE IS.
