What is the Christ Cares Clinic?

The Christ Cares Clinic is a new outreach ministry at Christ Church - Lutheran. In response to changing economics and an ever-increasing number of individuals and families who are uninsured or under insured, the Christ Cares Clinic will provide Christ-centered whole person health care in the form of well care and maintenance of chronic health conditions to pediatric and adult patient populations. On site counseling for individuals, couples, and families will also be available through the Christ Cares Clinic. The clinic will be staffed by volunteer medical professionals from Christ Church - Lutheran and the surrounding community. The Christ Cares Clinic is located on the campus of Christ Church - Lutheran and was dedicated on Sunday, October 16, 2011.

Partners in Mission

In December of 2010, the Christ Cares Clinic was awarded a $35,000.00 three-year grant from Wheat Ridge Ministries. It is because of their support that the Christ Cares Clinic is able to anticipate opening its doors this spring. Wheat Ridge Ministries has a long history of starting and supporting health and healing ministries within churches and communities and the Christ Cares Clinic is grateful for their generous support and looks forward to partnering with Wheat Ridge Ministries both now and in the future. Volunteers to Serve

The Christ Cares Clinic will be staffed by volunteer medical professionals. We are currently seeking physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, physician’s assistants and other licensed medical professionals to volunteer one or two evenings a month, as well as specialists who would be willing to see our patients for referrals outside of clinic hours. Volunteer information packets will soon be available through this website. Letters of reference as well as fingerprinting and background checks are required for all clinic volunteers, as is the case for volunteer staff at CCL and CLS. This is an amazing way to use the gifts that God has given you to minister to those in need outside of your regular practice.

 
Other Ways to Serve

There are ways to assist the Christ Cares Clinic, even if you are not a medical professional. Volunteer office assistants will be needed to assist the medical staff during clinic hours. Work days will be organized as we get close to opening our doors. Prayer warriors are needed to daily pray for this ministry and for those who will come for care as well as those who will provide it.

Donations

The Christ Cares Clinic is funded through the support of Christ Church - Lutheran, Wheat Ridge Ministries, and outside private donors. If you have a desire to donate to this new ministry, donations can be directed to Christ Church-Lutheran, with the designation for Christ Cares Clinic. Donations to the clinic will go towards starting up costs and the off-setting of care expenses such as outside lab fees, radiology services and counseling. A wish list will also be available in the near future via this website

Mission Statement

The Christ Cares Clinic mission is to provide Christ-motivated, Christ-centered, affordable primary healthcare and counseling in a state licensed, part-time, on-campus facility at Christ Church – Lutheran. Healthcare professional and other volunteers will serve our church’s working poor and those in the surrounding community. Our Motivation is proclaimed in 1 John 3: 18 - “Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue, but with actions and in truth.”
