Saturday, August 28 - Family Movie Night-The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything! - We will provide the popcorn and movie, just bring your family and guests if you would like! Movie will start at 5 pm and will be showing in our illustrious gym with High Definition picture and sound.

Saturday, September 18 - CPR Class for Parents - Do you have children? Has it been a while since you were CPR certified? Those questions are true for many of us, so we will be hosting a 3-hour CPR class designed specifically for parents with young children. The church will be taking care of part of the cost, but each participant will be responsible for an additional $15 fee. We have spots reserved for 10 participants, so please contact us right away to reserve your spot in the class. Meeting place on campus TBA.

Saturday, October 9 -  Schnepf Farm - This is sure to be an exciting event. Join us at the annual Pumpkin and Chili Party at Schnepf Farm. The farm opens at 10 am, so we will meet at that time and families can determine how long they stay… the farm is open until 10pm. The list of fun activities is too long to print, so check it out on their webpage: www.schnepffarms.com. It is a bit of a drive out to Queen Creek, but it will be worth the time. The cost for this event is $14/person at the park or you can purchase early at any Fry’s store for a slightly reduced rate. Sunday, Oct. 31 Trunk or Treat - In order to accommodate families who also like to participate in their neighborhood fun, we will start and end earlier this year. The trunk or treating will begin at 4:00 and go until 6:00 pm. Bring your costume, your candy, and of course… your trunk decorations. Dinner will also be provided for everyone! This will all take place in the South parking lot and we are welcoming all available trunks (we ask you to be in place and decorated for the 4:00 pm start time). We hope you will come and enjoy this safe and fun environment, bring family and friends with you, and consider providing a trunk and some treats for the kids. Saturday, November 6 - Family Nature Hike and Picnic Lunch - We plan to meet at 10am for a family hike, with plans to stop for a picnic lunch partway through. The trail and location is TBA, so look for more information as we get closer to this event!

Friday, December 3 - Zoo Lights - This has become an annual event and a time to get together, walk through the zoo, sip hot cocoa, and enjoy the beautiful light displays. We plan to meet in front of the zoo at 6pm. The cost is $9 for general admission and $7 for zoo members. Please let us know if you plan to attend. jdoyle@cclphoenix.org

Saturday, December 11 - Christmas Cookies and a Movie - This can be such a busy time of year, so let’s just get together to bake cookies and watch Christmas movies! Do you have a list of people for whom you would love to deliver Christmas cookies, but haven’t the time to bake? This is your chance to come and have some fun while crossing that off the list. Consider taking cookies to a party …or, just enjoying them yourselves. We are going to provide the cookie dough and frosting… you bring your favorite cookie cutters, sprinkles, and a container to carry home your cookies. Come with ideas for decorating and an appetite for tasting your cookie creations. Christmas movies will keep us entertained as well. Book Club (childcare provided) -Do you enjoy reading? Do you like to discuss books? How about combining both of those with snacks and coffee? Do we have a winning combination? If you are interested, please think about joining the CLS Book Club. We read one novel each month and get together to discuss during an hour-and-a-half meeting. The topics and genres we read are a great mix. We will meet every third Thursday of the month, from 9:00-10:30, and our first meeting will be Thursday, August 19th. If you are interested in joining, please email Lori Doyle at loribookclub@live.com and you will be added to the list to receive updates. Please also indicate if you will be needing child care. If there is enough of a need, we will work out a way to provide this service.
